The NCAA Division One Men’s Basketball tournament
technically begins tonight. There are two play in games that are to decide the
final teams to enter the tournament as 16 seeds. The current one seeds for the
tournament are Michigan State, University of North Carolina, Syracuse, and The
University of Kentucky. These teams are all very capable of winning the NCAA
tournament. There are many other teams in the field that have great chances of
running the table though. Florida State, who is ranked at a three seed, is my
favorite to reach the Final Four out of the East region. To come out of the
South region, I like Kentucky, who is a one seed. To win the Midwest region, I
have the University of North Carolina favored, and they are a one seed as well.
Finally, to win the West region I have Michigan State University. While I am
currently a Spartan student and could very well be biased, I still feel that
Michigan State has a great chance, if not the best chance to win the
tournament. Official tournament brackets do not have to be submitted until
Thursday, so some of my picks are subject to change. I do feel confident in my current picks however, with Michigan State beating Florida State in the national
championship game 74-69. I refuse to submit my bracket until it is due, for the
simple reason that news continues to come out about teams and players leading
up to the tournament.
