NCAA Basketball March Madness Preview

The NCAA Division One Men’s Basketball tournament technically begins tonight. There are two play in games that are to decide the final teams to enter the tournament as 16 seeds. The current one seeds for the tournament are Michigan State, University of North Carolina, Syracuse, and The University of Kentucky. These teams are all very capable of winning the NCAA tournament. There are many other teams in the field that have great chances of running the table though. Florida State, who is ranked at a three seed, is my favorite to reach the Final Four out of the East region. To come out of the South region, I like Kentucky, who is a one seed. To win the Midwest region, I have the University of North Carolina favored, and they are a one seed as well. Finally, to win the West region I have Michigan State University. While I am currently a Spartan student and could very well be biased, I still feel that Michigan State has a great chance, if not the best chance to win the tournament. Official tournament brackets do not have to be submitted until Thursday, so some of my picks are subject to change. I do feel confident in my current picks however, with Michigan State beating Florida State in the national championship game 74-69. I refuse to submit my bracket until it is due, for the simple reason that news continues to come out about teams and players leading up to the tournament.

Superbowl Sunday

Obviously a little late, but here are some of my thoughts on the super bowl. I honestly had no preference who won the game because I had no affiliation with either team. Early in the game, it did not look like it was Tom Brady and the Patriot's game. Starting with the strange safety call against the Patriots while they were backed into their own end zone. There seemed to be a lot working against the Patriots, such as Gronkowski not being able to play his best due to his ankle, and the different drops that other Patriots receivers had. It was overall a great football game. It opened with the Giants being 3.5 point dogs, and by kickoff they were only 3 point underdogs. Many thought that the Giants should have been favored, and as it turns out they were right. From the early safety that went against the Patriots, to the amazing reception thrown to Mario Manningham from Eli Manning, the Giants really seemed destined to win the game in the end.

Blogroll

There are several different blogs that I like to visit regularly, they are also very similar to mine and good sources that I like to rely on for inside sports information and also information on sports betting lines. They are also blogs I have used for some time.

Thus, here is my blogroll:
Barstool Sports - A Boston Sports blog that I use mainly for the sports betting advice, it is a good source of sports information though.
BSN Blog - A blog that previews all sports match ups and also gives important breaking news with regards to the different match ups.
PuckUpdate - A hockey blog that has very reliable and up to date information, because my favorite sport is hockey by  a long shot.
New Media Drivers License - Our class blog site that has the weekly posting from students.

Hello world wide web. While I am fairly experienced with social media and have been on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and even LinkedIn for some time now, this is my first ever blog post. I am familiar with blogs in that I have read them, but I have never had my own before. I have primarily been interested in blogs that were closely related to sports, as well as blogs that have been related to sports betting as well. These two are obviously very closely related so it is easy to find blogs that have authors who post about both topics very often. Sports blogs are very easy to find on the internet. There are a wide variety of authors who have opinions that are great on certain subjects, but then there are even more who have opinions that are terribly biased. Although there are so many different blogs, if you can learn to filter through some of the biased information and one sided opinions, there is actually some great information and original ideas on a wide variety of topics available to readers. Hopefully with this blog, I can bring interesting points of view on different sports and breaking sports news. I hope that people come to find my blog and its content as informative and interesting with some fresh ideas that are unbiased and easy to read.
